Not sure where to start?
When you begin planning a major renovation, addition, or the building of a new home, you may not be 100% certain of the design potential. Or you may not be aware of all the challenges that the house or site may pose. Or you may not know what it will cost or how long the process takes.
Our focus is on whole-house renovations and new homes with a construction cost budget between $750,000 and $7,500,000. For these projects, we’ve developed The Clarity Report, a necessary first step to establishing a large project’s unique objectives and parameters before considering design. We start with a short phone consultation, followed by a site visit, research, and the written report.
For smaller projects, we offer several free guides to help you organize goals, consider the pitfalls, and get a sense of potential cost.
But for a more complex project,The Clarity Report will give you:
- Greater confidence in understanding the design/documentation/build process
- Enhanced knowledge of what your project may look like
- More informed decisions and greater certainty
- Less stress and increased peace of mind
Neglecting this step can lead to you making poorly informed decisions which can put you at risk of the following:
- Runaway costs that exceed your budget
- Losing control of the project, having to make decisions without the necessary background knowledge
- The project taking much longer than you anticipate
- Failing to make optimal use of your home and site
- Settling for a design you don’t like
The Clarity Report provides valuable insights that you can use to make the best decisions and that you can then take to any architect to pursue your next steps. Here’s what you get:
- One meeting at your home to review your project needs
- Verbal recommendations on layout and design
- A written report to include:
- Scope of work
- Building and energy code review
- Sustainable design strategies
- Preliminary construction cost estimate
- Preliminary design, documentation, and construction schedules
- Preliminary ranges of architectural and engineering fees
- Chart of typical project phases and architect’s deliverables
- Review of local zoning and stormwater management codes (for additions and new construction)
- We’ll determine how the home can delight you and your visitors.
Fees for The Clarity Report are $2,500 for projects involving new construction or addition(s), $1,500 for interiors- only renovation projects, or $500 for small projects only requiring items 1 and 2. The fee will be credited back to you should you hire us to perform architectural work. The report will be yours to keep and use as you require.
