Now that the basement concrete work is finished, builders are starting the framing on this new house. This is the second post in the construction timeline of our development project in Chestnut Hill. In the videos below, you can see a steel beam and some interior wall framing in the basement that will support the load above. Next, the builders install the floor joists. The house design includes space for a potential elevator shaft, which will initially be framed and built as a closet on each floor. The second video shows how the closet floors are designed for easy removal if the homeowners decide to add an elevator in the future.
