Krieger + Associates is collaborating with Scranton architects DXDempsey on renovation and restoration of the iconic Electric City building in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Fidelity Bank has purchased the eight-story Beaux Arts building in the heart of downtown for their new corporate headquarters. The limestone building is most well-known for its giant illuminated sign on the roof commemorating Scranton’s early adoption of electric lights and electric-powered streetcars in the 1880’s. Our firm’s focus is on design and documentation for updating the building’s shell and core. DxDempsey will handle interior fit-out.
Fidelity will benefit from consolidating its growing operations into one office location. The company also hopes to bring jobs and growth into downtown Scranton. Our shared project goals are to preserve the landmark’s historic features and details while making the building more energy-efficient, code-compliant, and functional for use as a modern office building.
